Structural engineering, computed from the drawing.

Engenie by Hummer reads the architect's DWG and produces the structural wall and column plan, reinforcement design and code checks. Engineers approve a result instead of drawing one.

An architectural floor plan being turned into a structural plan: walls are traced, columns are placed, slab reinforcement is laid out. 6.405.605.70 6.20 6.10 Walls, columns Rebar Ø12 @ 200

From one architectural file to a checked structural package.

Each stage is deterministic where geometry matters and reviewed where judgment matters. Every rule the engine applies is enforced in code and reported with its reason.

SolutionWhat it does

Wall and column plan

From the architect's DWG

Reads layers, lines and hatches, identifies storeys and the building footprint, and returns the load-bearing wall plan with optional column positions. Exported as IFC and as a marked-up DWG the architect can open.

Reinforcement design

Slabs, beams, columns

Computes moments and required steel areas, selects bar diameters and spacing from the office's catalogue, resolves laps and anchorage from the code tables, and produces the reinforcement drawing and schedule.

Output: DWG, PDF, bar bending schedule

Code and office-rule checks

Eurocode 2, SANS 10100, SI 466

Every national rule and every office preference is a deterministic assertion. The result either passes or lists each deviation with its clause, so a reviewer spends less time checking than it would take to design.

Review and delivery

Approve, annotate, hand over

Reviewers mark decisions directly on the drawing. Approved results are delivered as DWG, IFC 4 and PDF, with the full decision log kept with the project.

How a project runs

Four steps. The engine does the geometry and the arithmetic; the engineer keeps the decisions.

Step 1

Upload the drawings

Architectural DWG or DXF, with sections and elevations if available. Nothing else is needed.

Step 2

Confirm the layers

The engine proposes which layers carry walls and columns. The engineer confirms once per project.

Step 3

Compute and check

Wall plan, columns, reinforcement and code checks are produced together, with every rule reported.

Step 4

Review and deliver

Approve or annotate on the drawing, then export DWG, IFC and PDF for the project team.
